A note on formatting. HWP/HWPX → PDF uses Nanum fonts and outlined text, which cannot be selected or searched. PDF → HWP extracts editable text; original layout, tables, and images are not retained. Review each result before sharing.

FAQ

Good questions. Straight answers.

Do you upload or store my documents?

No. Your browser reads and converts the files in memory on your device. There are no document upload endpoints, analytics, or remote conversion services. Clearing the queue or closing the tab releases the documents from the app.

Which documents can I convert?

PDF, HWP 5 (.hwp), and HWPX (.hwpx), up to 30 MB per file and 20 files per batch. PDFs become editable HWP text; HWP and HWPX become PDFs. PDFs are limited to 200 pages, 250,000 extracted characters, and 20,000 lines. Password-protected files are not supported.

Will the PDF look exactly like my original?

The converter preserves supported page layouts, tables, and images, but it is not Hancom’s own rendering engine. We use bundled Nanum fonts, which can change spacing. Complex drawings, equations, and embedded objects may differ. PDF text is converted to vector outlines and cannot be searched or copied.

Can I edit the HWP made from my PDF?

Yes. Extractable PDF text becomes real HWP paragraphs, with breaks between source pages. Original styles, tables, images, and column layouts are not reconstructed. Scans and outlined text need OCR, which is not included. PDFs created by this app use outlined text, so converting them back will not recover editable text. Pages with no text are left blank and flagged; files with no text at all cannot be converted.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Use a modern browser with WebAssembly support. The converter and fonts are downloaded from this site when you start your first conversion. The actual conversion runs entirely on your device.
